Offline address book not updating automatically
There is no GUI management tool of offline address book as of now.
Here, I will show steps to configure offline address book in Exchange 2013.
Here, I will create an offline address book called Ottawa-OAB and include Ottawa-Address-List address list.
Then I will assign this address book to mailbox users who live in Ottawa city.
Normally, the offline global address book will be updated in a regular interval in Outlook, such as every 30 minutes. Now the Send/Receive Settings dialog box opens, please do as follows: Make sure that the Include the selected account in this group option is not checked in other email accounts, and click the OK button. You return to the Send/Receive Groups dialog box, please check the Schedule an automatic send/receive every x minutes option in the Setting for group section, specify the update interval among this option, and click the Close button.
To view the default offline address book, type the cmdlet Get-Offline Address Book in EMS as shown below.
But you can change this settings, or apply the changes manually.
To update the changes manually type cmdlet, Update-Offline Address Book “Ottawa OAB” To view per user OAB settings of user say, DShields, type cmdlet, Get-Mailbox DShields | fl Offline Address Book, Custom Attribute1.
Then, the offline address book is rolled out by OAB virtual directory.
So make sure the internal and external URL for OAB and Autodiscover virtual directory is configured properly.
